It's Been So Hot In Kentucky

.....the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
.....the trees are whistling for the dogs.
.....the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
.....hot water now comes out of both taps.
.....you can make sun tea instantly.
.....you learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
.....the temperature drops below 95 F (35 C) and you feel a little chilly.
.....you discover that in July it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
.....you discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
.....you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
.....you break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
.....your biggest bicycle wreck fear is"What if I get knocked out and
end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
.....you realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
.....the potatoes cook underground so all you have to do is pull
one out and add butter.
.....the cows are giving evaporated milk.
.....farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them
from laying boiled eggs.

Ha-ha.... *STAY COOL!*
 
Down here it's the "rainy season" so we additionally get a 4 PM shower followed by the afternoon sauna: You can durn-near swim thru the vapour to get to the car.

it's been so hot here I've taken to carrying a jacket in the B, to cover the seats when I park it

I'll bet that there haven't been as many Sctotsmen walking around with sunny dispositions since the last time they beat England.
 
bah... hot... it was "hot" the last week of July/first week of August here. It was so hot you didn't wanna park your car outside for fear of the tires bursting...

Of course, last night it was "cold". It must have gotten into the low 60s... sleeping under my toasty blanket I woke up at 6AM feeling like a little 5y.o. with my cold weather runny nose. I resisted getting out of the bed for as long as possible, but the misery of the runny nose bit over rode the desire to stay toasty. I had to get out of the covers to shut off the fans I left on over night.
