Let me start a new thread since the damper oil issue is resolved.

IT'S ALIVE, IT"S ALIVE!!!!

Still tweaking the timing and am yet to take it for its first spin but it is running consistently. I'm extra excited because I never heard this motor ran before pulling and rebuilding it and the entire car.

Hope to have the spuddering carb fixed shortly.

Thanks for all of the help guys! I still have a ways to go but this is a major item marked off of the checklist.

And what did you do to make it run.

Advanced the timing... And reworked the carb mixture.

I still have a very frustrating problem with the rear carb. I adjusted the float level many times. I tried different valves and even a set of grose valves. The carb does fine for a bit then it blows gas out of the vent hole and just prior to that starts sputtering. I think I'm going to throw a pressure regulator on it tomorrow because it could be a inconsistent burst of pressure that unseats the valve.

Sounds good when it runs though /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Did you change the float valve seat Ben?

haha, right wasn't I.

Check for dirt, did you change the fuel pump, maybe to much pressure. I had the same problem when I took my regulator out. Thought it would be the front leaking, but it was the rear.

Way to go.
Pat

BTW, I don't think the Grose jets will "help" at all!!! I think they are over-rated!!
