I finally ( after 12 years) got around to playing w/ the Sachs rotary engine. No big deal, file the points, squirt some juice and bbbbbbbrrrrrrRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a sweet litttle engine. Sounds wicked too. Gotta rig up a fuel tank for it. Gotta find a way to post vid, I've got no way to record it.

That's a 2-stroke style engine isn't it? Takes a gas-oil mix?. Can't wait for a video.

Yep and no, got it mixed 20:1 right now. It's 4 stroke, but gotta premix for lube.

Right! ok.. I knew being a Wankle it uses a 4-cycle order, but I thought (and correctly so) that it did not have an oil sump. I just wasn't sure. Cool. I learn sumpin new every day.

I've got the coupler disconnected and the bed rubbers unhooked at the moment.

Yeah, I know. Thing is, I'm not in a cart friendly area. I do, however; live in a FABULOUS place to drive a LBC on countless miles of back country roads year round. I guess you gotta just realize your limitations. At least I( got it running. That was pretty cool.

Got a stern warning from the gurus over at Smokstak to NEVER use any canned juice to fire up this engine. Ether, WD40, carb cleaner.... anything like that. It'll take out the rotor seals faster than you can say "Wankle"
Just thought I'd pass it along.
I'll put rotaries on my "no-spray" list along with 2-strokes and Diesels.
