After four plus years of sitting in various piles, gathering dust, snowflakes, spider webs, and disgruntled stares and many expletives. I fired the engine on the spitfire and took a short ride. All systems work except for the turn signals (busted the switch putting it in. Rotten pot metal.) And the brakes are almost not there. Need more bleeding. Using Dot 5 so that is to be expected.

Not completed by any means. No carpet, no top, no interior panels. Paint job looks like crap. (I learned I'm no painter) No pictures at this stage. Too ashamed at how it looks.

What a difference in performance!!! Snappy from off idle to 4000 RPM. Not gonna push it til after break in. Handle like it is on rails, even though the front end is sitting way to high for some reason. Ideas??? Need alignment as well.

Onward and upward!!! TallyHo!! etc.

The first ride is a wonderful thing! Congratulations!

Congratulation looks great! Oh ya not pic worthy well while lots of guys on here need it perfect going down the road is as good as I need. Enjoy!

Check on the front springs, shorten them by a half turn maybe? or if the rear wheels have a lot of camber rearch the rear.
Grats on the run, I have been thiiiiiiis close for months.

YAY!

Good to hear this, Darwin; I know it's been a long road. Makes it all the better!

I am using the springs that were in the car. I waited untill everything was bolted back on the car before torqueing any of the suspention pieces down. I'm hoping it may settle some as I am driving. Time will tell.

Great to hear Darwin!

Someday I will have the same pleasure
Happy motoring

You got a camera??? How about a few shots of the car?

Paul,
I got a camera but the car is not ready for viewing yet. I runs, it drives, but it needs an interior and it need to be sanded out yet. When it is presentable I will post pics.

Thanks, Brian. Your tranny parts are doing their thing. Shifts much better.
