It's a small world

Saturday my fellow BE friend and I spent the day putting the tonneau on my BE. His has been in storage since 1976.
He's now going 1380cc and all that jazz. He's ordered a ton of
performance stuff from merry ol England (good exchange rate right now). Titan rockers and the whole shebang.
Now, he and I both haven't seen another BE around here for decades.
He takes a short cut to Home Depot to buy some lumber on the way home.
He passes a great looking BE in BRG that looked mint.
His trained ear recognizes it as a 948cc as it whizzes by.
Even had the stock skinny tires and moon hub caps.
He wife sees it too as she goes to Home Depot via a different route.( she has a 70 something Midget).
Now what are the odds on THAT happening?

Ohm...spridget,spridget,spridget...Ohm

Tell them the part where our obcessed buddy :smile: is putting a Moldex billet crank and Carrillo rods in his 1275 (1380) street engine

I've been working with Alan on this motor as well, this isn't Alan first rodeo, he's built several engines before, does a good job porting his own heads. Alan always been one of those guys who take stuff to the 10/10th, and this engine build is no different for him.

Now, I just want to see him get the car on the road and lets take for a ride up in the moutians, it's been sitting in the shed way too long on them rain tires  I told him I was going to give him a buttload of crap if this engine ends up being a coffee table

I guess I known Alan for 25 years or so, wonder if his ears are burining , I guess we need to get him on here too.

I've been importing from Mini Spares for decades, they ship everyhting to US via UPS, since 9/11, UPS has less choices on international shipping, so everything comes express these days, so it needs to be a pretty good order, if you only order a few things shipping will kill you. ON the east coast you get things form the uk as quickly as you get them from the west coast.

How ironic, Alan called me as I was writing this

How ironic indeed! I stopped by Alan's today to
check on my wheelskin order. I told him I gave him a plug here.
I can't wait to see his motor when finished. He is the most
picky/attention to detail guy I know.
One of the best things about my re-acquiring a Sprite is that it has helped motivate Alan to do his.
We laughed today about how in high school most of us guys had muscle cars and he was putting around in a BE he bought for $500. He was ahead of his time.
He inspired me to sell my GTO and buy a Sprite.

PS: I sent my dues in to FBCC and plan to make the April
meeting in Greenville. Hope to see ya there.

Cool, look forward to meeting you in person, hey you could always drag "Sleepy" along with you, thats old nickname we have for Alan, call him that sometimes, that will get his attention.

Hi Gents,

All I can say is; I can`t wait to get down to the "Up-State"!!!!

See Ya All real soon,

Regards, Russ

Alan's eta for hitting the road is NEXT year. LOL
No stone will be unturned. That's Alan.
I just got this pic of his 1275 head. Really pretty work.
He's talking satellite exhaust valve seats and blending exhaust and intake ports to maintain lamina flow to
combustion chamber. WAY over my head.
