italian sprite?

Offline
ebay item # 120147627166 - 1965 "innocenti" rare italian sprite, what dah? never seen me unah dem but kinda like it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

That's exactly what it is, 1961 through 1966, only about 6,000 assembled. BMC running gear, Italian body.
If that was nearby, I'd be all over it.

baz, so is it worth $250.00? or more? is it a cult thing? can ya get parts? ever seen one in real life? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

Barry, from the pictures, it looks as though it's only a rolling shell. Could be a very expensive proposition to complete. The driveline would be no problem, of course, but some of the other bits are hard to find.
Jeff

I'd take it for $500. Parts? It's an A-Series, either 948 or 1098cc originally, but a 1275 would be just great in it.
I think the radiator is different, and there are other details that are minor, but for all intents and purposes, it's a Spridget under the lipstick.
Is it a cult thing? I don't know, I just want one.

Barry, I was thinking along the lines of the interior bits.
I always liked the looks of the things. A friend in Arizona had one, and people always asked him if it was a Datsun or a Fiat.
Jeff

Oh, I'm sure Jeff, the brightwork would be a nightmare.
But for what I was dreaming about, I wouldn't need an interior /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif .

mehheh.
"Let's go RACING!"

That's one rare little bird - & the author of the auction is correct in his explanation/history....unfortunately, the things that make it unique are also the things that are missing: windshield. grille, dash/interior items, bumpers, etc.....she's worth the money just to tuck in a corner of a garage as a person would probably never find the things needed to complete the restoration regardless of what he says about the Italian connection.

That said, were she close enough, she'd be on my trailer for that money!

BAZ...so what's holding you back...a rolling chasis for $250 brightwork and spares for $150...yank your 74's engine and drivetrain...you're all set!!!

and you even sound like my wife -chuckle-

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]Here's your bumper and grille, you could always go Brooklands style on the windshield..... [/QUOTE]

But price of that car plus $350 or so to get them rechromed should do it, yep, yep, yep!

baz, like i said i kinda like that little thang but "aintnee" has done his bit to bump up them stats as it is dont need to go for # 3 sides next "eye-tie" car i buy will have its name start with an "F" and that aint fiat, as far as this little ebay gem goes i can say im totaly "innocenti" hun. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/angel.gif
