The Maserati coupe is a rare bird. I didn't know it was called a type 501 - maybe that came from it's original serial number, which was x501. (The 'x' was a 3 or 4, I don't recall). Not especially pretty but historically significant.

I agree w/ Steve re the Riley. Change the grille & it looks a lot like many thirties vintage Alfas.

Nice Healey, by the way. Congrat's on the trophy.

wow! great pics...Thanks

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif Most of those I'll probably never get to see here in middle Alabama. I really gotta get out more.

Congrats! And nice photos...

You're trying to make me jealous aren't you... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif Some of those cars are just so fantastic and I would virtually guarantee that I'll never see one of them... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

If you could see the Type 501 live I think it you would be impressed with its design. I have some rear and front shots also. It looks a bit odd but it is a 1960 car. I thought it the neatest car there.

You guys need to get out more /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I see a BCF meeting in planning stages for next month at Laguna Seca /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Those birdcages may be pretty sitting still but wait until you see AND HEAR 3 or 4 of them at full speed on the track, fighting with Ferrari's for the lead. And there have even been several Riley 1.5's on the track in the past few years, my fav last year was the HRG since it is so near to my Singer heart.

I am going to the pre-historics this year but its only a 5 hour drive, I could be talked into going both weekends /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Sorry no Singer or Dino this year, I am riding my bike up this year.

@mikeyr

I only wish... Laguna Seca is a little too far away for this broke Calgarian... Perhaps some day...

We just a piddly little local vintage race meet in August
