When you run the numbers, you will see that the code shows it was red from the factory. Pretty sure the green is the only respray on the car.

Mickey,

Did I tell you about the two early Spiders that I looked at years ago just above you in KY. I'm sure there not there now but thats the only ones that I have run into. Will be watching.

Marv

Yup, your right! I wasn't doubting your word Marv, I just wanted a picture of their certification for my records. I ran the numbers and they are as you said with all numbers matching and the build date was 17 December 1954. Thank a bunch! The cert says it was dark red when built, but even though I like them in black, I guess it should be as original. That will make two red MGs in the family. I don't know!?????

Thanks Vince! How's the TD coming along? PJ

Ok, here it is! Such a good feeling to know all numbers match!

Nice job of showing the codes. I thought about black, sure would be pretty, your car, paint it the way you like. Just send me a picture when done. I have one of the last TR3B's built. It was black on black. I've never done a black car and little scared to try it but its only paint.

Very nice, Paul.

...I hate you now...

Wait yer turn, there, Bunkie!

I forgot to mention that the car had new Dunlaps on it when I bought it, which, as I understand, are what came on it when new. It's nice when things like that are considered at the time of purchase. Nice move Marv! Another plus. PJ

PS, I'm rebuilding the speedo and clock now. Actually, cleaning and lubricating. Took the clock apart, cleaned, lubed and reset the timing wheel contacts. The clock now works, probably for the first time in many, many years.
