It Runs !!

Started work on the car at 0900 and just finished for the day. The engine runs great... starts easy and holds about 70 pounds of pressure.. Electric fan came on at 185 and shut down at 180. The carbs from Gary Martin needed no adjustments except for idle. I have it set for 1000 right now. The Toyota five speed and hermans kit seem to work fine but I can't get 5th gear. I don't think I took enough off the shift plate. I'm going to work on that tomorrow and put in a seat for a small trip. I got it started about 5 and have been working on wiring since then. I now have back the turn signals and horn I lost when I put the rack and pinion on. All lights work.. I still need to install the grill and hood... I'm ready!

Isn't it great when it all comes together. Excellent. Send a pic or two of the initial voyage.

Sounds like you are a kid at Christmas. Congrats.

A little pointer, and I am sure that you know this, before you take it out on the road....is it insured yet??
I use American Collector, there are others. Don't assume that your regular auto insurance will protect your investment. It absolutely won't. My auto insurance is USAA and they steered me to American Collector.

I just have nightmare visions of actually watching a brand new car drive off the lot and got smacked. Total loss. No insurance. This was in 1961 and I can still see it.

We can't wait for the final photo layout....
