Sunday afternoon...3:20 PM CST...my 71 TR6 started!!

With my wife holding a can of starter fluid in one hand and a fire extinquisher in the other, we got it started. It ran for nearly 10 minutes with a little choke before it started to run hot. I imagine the thermostat is stuck or shot. My wife wanted to take it for a spin but there is the small matter of the clutch slave cylinder that I have yet to replace. I've heard a working clutch makes it shift smoother!!!

Congrats!! Well Done !!

Best wishes for a fun car.

I THOUGHT I heard a "WOO-HOO" coming from the SE a few hours ago!

Congrats, Brent!

Thanks everyone. I certainly couldn't do it without the forum...THANKS BASIL! I feel like a new man. By this weekend, if the gods smile on me, I'll take her around the block. Today was 77 degrees and sunny in Nashville. It took all of my will power to stay at work and not drop everything to get the clutch working.
