I've had a TV175 motor/transmission for a Lambretta scooter for the past 42 years... untouched, unopened!
As gas is going into the stratosphere, I decided to rebuild it and install it into my 1959 Lambretta scooter.
I will be totally rebuilding the entire engine with new seals, bearings, and clutch plates.
It was given to me by one of my dad's friends when I was in college and I've kept it ever since. Today I degreased it so I can open up the engine and start the resto.
Some pics of the before and after...

Edit: it's a 175cc, with a 4-speed transmission.

This is what it looks like... only mine is the original two-tone light grey and blue-grey.

Neat... The only vehicle my mom ever owned was a Lambretta scooter, she purchased it in the late-1950's in England, then when she moved to Canada in 1961 and ultimately stayed here (after she met my dad), she had her family sell it for her... She never did get her drivers license her whole life, either in England or here in Canada...

Here's a 1959 photo of her scooter

A group of three Lambretta's owned locally here in Calgary, actually some of the ones in this photo are Spanish-built scooters

Have fun with your Lambretta

Very cool black and white photo Sherlock....
The Spanish ones are called Servettas.
I also own and drive regularly a 1963 red TV175, here's a photo below. At one time I owned FIVE Lambrettas.... sold three and just have the two now.

As you know, vintage scooters and new scooters are becoming extremely popular now, but you've probably always been on the band wagon...

I have owned the red one since 1969! I think that qualifies me for "leader of the band wagon"

Had an Li 125 as a kid. Took it places were Bridgestone trailbikes would get stuck. Lost the flywheel during a teardown and never got it going again. Wish I had it now. Seeing those pics sure makes me feel old.

Nah.... they dare not talk about me behind me back. If they do, I just pull out the big gun scooter that doc helped me design and no-body says a word :jester:
