Every time I look at my TR6, I some how think that it is
"me", the emotional connection to the car is very strong.
Much like I look at my children, I think the car could/ should only belong to me.
Like it was destined to be mine.

Just some caffine induced thoughts.


Now I have to get back to work. Get home early, wax the car and get ready for Crystal Cove.

When I look in the trunk I have a similar feeling. Actually it's when I lift the cover and expose the spare tire.

Makes obnoxious sounds, smells bad, threadbare everything, paint is falling off, nobody wants anything to do with it but me, runs like a bat outta hades....

Greenie and I were both born in 1968, and I think for a pair of road warriors pushing 40, we're holding up pretty darn well. No question that we were meant to be together. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif
 
Lots of similarities. Although I'm older than the car, it's old in car-years. It creaks, hard to start on cold mornings, requires some special TLC, needs a little extra lubrication, looks a little frayed in places, shows some age spots from the sun, and it's starting to only do stuff it wants to do. Some replacement/prosthetic parts have been needed to keep up. With a little higher maintenance and treated with care, however, we should provide some service for a while longer.

There is a lot of me in my TR6. In fact, every time I look at the scars on my arms and knuckles, I think of the car.

I wish I was as young as my TR6. She's 23 years my junior.

And tomorrow she'll haul my old butt off to the Westport and Sakonnett Winery tours, CCBCC picnic and final stop for ice cream before happily taking me home. See, sometimes it pays to be older!
 
Better and better looking as the years pile on, still wonderfully energetic....yeah, we're twins.
 
Yes, for my '66 4A, it's me. But even more for my high school '64 TR4, the whereabouts of which I've been hunting through DMV records. Like searching for a runaway pet.
