They have different levels. I'd got look at it. it's not the paint job, it's the body and prep work. If he or someone else did it, then again, you never know either way... You could have a crap job shot by some guy in his driveway or something wonderful that was shot on a dirt floor. Good shops sometimes turn out crap work too. Unless it's someone you know, you don't know and even then you don't know.....there are known unknowns and unknown unknowns....

Oh, and if you miss out on that bugeye, here's another one for only $1000 more:

If that's the going price for a project then I feel better about what I'm spending on mine.

Yeah, right...

As for the original car in question, don't discount a MAACO job off the bat without seeing it. A friend had them (or some similar shop) do the paint on his TR6 -- it looks really nice. Driver quality for sure, but still it was a solid paint job.

There is a Speedwell Blue 1958 BE just listed on "Bugeye Parts" that is in Seattle listed at $17,000.There are also a few Bugeyes on E-Bay right now. Lots of choices.

To recount the immortal words of W.C. Fields " there is a sucker born every minute!"

I stand corrected. WC Fields was children and animals...IIRC

That appears to be a bargain to me. As always......too far away!

Kurt.

I know that car, it has my old rib case in it.
