Is this someone here?

The opposite of the Airport Racer gold instead of silver. A good price as this guy gas not looked at what good quality BEs are going for these days.

If that car is in Carlsbad then you want to get in contact with Mickey Pleasant. Mickey lives in Carlsbad and I am sure he probably knows about this car. He told Drew about Penny when Drew was looking for RHD BE. I can't remember his E-Mail or phone number, but if someone is really interested I can find out. Send me a PM if you want me to do some leg work.
Also John Felt who lives in Vista might know. He is also a good friend of Mickey.

I contacted John felt who lives in Vista,CA and he gave me his phone nnumber. He says he knows the car.
His # is 760-683-4551

I emailed Mickey awhile back and also confirmed his info on Bugeye parts, but no reply to date. Is the number you posted Mickeys or Johns?
Rut

It is John"s number. He must be awake because he answered my E-Mail. H said he knows about the car and feel free to call him.

I tried contacting the owner of the car via phone and email, no response yet :(

Spoke with John today, sounds like a solid car. Thanks for the help with that!

One thing that spooks me is the color. Not that I don't like it, but if it ever needed touching up, good luck. Harley Davidson yellow with Gold candy.....thats a tough one to blend. I had a fellow come over to give a quote on paint for my car, and if its another that is an amount that I will never have, I'll sell my two and get one done.

Looks like Chico is about 550 miles from Carlsbad. Are you planning on looking at the car first hand. You might be able to catch a commuter flight that lands at the Airport in Carlsbad.

Nice looking car and, as they say, you couldn't build it for that. I'm not too crazy about the black meatballs, but the color of the car is different in a good way. If you're not going to use it as a daily driver, I wouldn't worry too much about touching up the paint. The chances of scraping up the paint on a weekend drive or at a show are pretty slim and if it's something like a major accident, it's going to be the insurance company's problem to make it right. Even if you needed a repair, the bugeye has a lot of cut lines so you'd probably end up painting a whole side or a bonnet or trunk panel so it would be a lot easier to do an acceptable match than if you were trying to do a blend on a single panel. I'd get the name and paint code, though and also the name of the painter in case you needed it in the future.

The meatballs are magnets, so no worries there. As for looking at it, if I drive that far, 9 hours, I'll have a trailer attached in case I take it home.

Yep, hook up the trailer and go! Hope you can work out a good deal and haul it home.
