Looks like a nice car. However no pictures of the boot,interior, or engine compartment? Ask seller for images of as much as you can get. It is always suspecious when interior and engine pictures are not shown. Especially when he was good about taking pictures from every possible outside angle. The car could be a good one, however don't get too excited about the price. The auction is only starting out at $6,100.
 
But the buy now price is $6900. I wonder if it was supposed to be $69,000?

It's one of 3 things; a scam (the Buy it Now Price of $6900.00???), a mistake, they could have left off a digit like a 2 or 3 in front of the 900.00 or they just want to dump it for some reason. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Those photos looked like the car that was for sale in Canada a few months ago. The one with the clothes pin on the choke.

Sorry I don't understand? Healeys do not use clothes pins for part of the choke setup??? Mine has 3!!! The guy told me that was correct so I believed him. Do people on eBay actually give false information?

okis that sounds nice . i have a friend near edinburgh that can buy the car in cash for me - please give me your phone number and adress and ill get him to contact you - ill transfear the money to him and he can pay you on pick up - ill come next month and get the car my self.

This IS a scam.

Air freight for a car is extortionately expensive. For comparison, four years ago containerized surface shipping from the US to the UK for a Healey cost $1200. Airfreight today would be much more, even with a wife working for DHL.

If you really want to spike this tell them you know me in Scotland and ask if I can VISIT and inspect the car.

Its an easy offer for me to make for they'll disappear, fast.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
 
That's rubbish about emissions on a car of that age.
If it is a scam it's a pity the guy can't be trapped by the authorities.If his wife can get the transport free she must be sleeping with her boss?

I guess that was to cover the fact that the pictures were taken in North America, oh and the NA style plates.

hmmm... you could always tell this guy that you have an insurance check, for say.....15k and then ask him to wire you the difference .....

Thought I would contact him as a potential buyer. His English for being from Scotland is interesting. Perhaps he is only living there and not English speaking as a first language or perhaps he is living in Romania or Nigeria!

I replied to his words below asking if I could see the car. Will be interesting if he replies at all.

I'm selling it this low cause i can not register it here because it is an US model (which complies with the US emission ) and Europe regulations are different from these ones.Also if there is something you don't like about it or if the car is not as i advertise you can shipp it back to me on my cost. You are wellcome to come and inspect it due in any weekend just let me know when you can arrive here or if you have a friend from Scotland who can come and inspect it. thanks
