Is this a Healey Part?

Hi-

Sorry to barge into unknown territory here, but I am a Triumph guy who's inherited a rear bumper - but I have no idea what it is from. From these pics, can anyone tell me if this is Healey related? I was thinking maybe, but if not, I'll pester another forum!

Also, if I can continue my rudeness, is this worth anything if it is a Healey? If so, I'm very willing to work a BCF special deal for any regular contributors. It certainly has issues, but it looks potentially worth saving to me.

Thanks
Randy

I just went out to the garage to look. Looks like its a Healey 3000 rear bumper. I'm not sure what other Healeys it might fit.

:savewave:

YEP sure is it is a rear bumper for a Big Healey. It certainly can be repaired and re plated and is far superior to an aftermarket one.-Fwiw==Keoke

That is a rear bumper assembly for a 6 cylinder Austin Healey from the first of the 100/Six right through to late BJ8, and it's complete with Lucas licence lamp and mounting bracket. The last of the BJ8's for North American spec had a different licence lamp mounting baracket, but the bumper and irons remained the same.

That was quick, thanks guys!

As Keoke alluded yes it is and I would say worth something to a Big Healey owner looking for a part to restore--local club, e-bay, craigslist etc. should draw some interest and get it to a good home.

Hi Randy, yes it is an AH bumper. Please contact the North Texas AHC and place an ad in their newsletter, I'm sure you'll find a buyer there.

Thanks for the referral, Johnny.

Hey TR4nut,

I am the web master for the North Texas AHC and my Email is at the bottom of the home page at www.ntahc.org.

If you'll pull an ad for the bumper together and Email it to me, I'll put it on the web site AND get it in our newsletter.

If you choose to go that way, I need to hear from you before Wednesday.
On Wednesday morning, we leave for Denver for a week, then to the Bonneville Salt Flats to watch the Healeys speed runs.

I see that you are in Katy. If you'd like to sell your part a little closer to home, you can contact the Gulf Coast Austin Healey Club in Houston through their Web Site

Thanks Tim-

I will definitely take you up on that.
