Is this a Formula Steering Wheel?

I got this from my Dad years ago, he said it came off his old Spitfire. It's been hanging on my wall as a decoration but based on some pictures online I think it may be the real deal, a "Formula" steering wheel. There are no markings on it, so I'm not sure. Anyone know?

Not positive, but yes I'd say so. Looks in great shape too. I have a Formula on my TR4. Hunt down the boss and you'll have a real nice setup.

Yeah, that's a Formula wheel. I have several just like it in Leather. If you ever want to part with it, please drop me a line

Cheers,

Ok thanks guys. It sure is a nice looking wheel, but without the boss it will probably remain wall art for awhile! Thanks again.

Ok, I have one of those too..my wheel has the same square hole in the center, no markings anywhere, 5 holes per spoke..got it from a friend who got it at a yard sale or something. What are Formula wheels? Would it be suitable for my Mini? Jaguar? Fill me in, I know not what I have.

Not sure how directly affiliated they were with Standard Triumph, but Formula wheels were an aftermarket option offered by Triumph dealers and others.

Here is a pic of the one installed on my TR4:

I also was lucky and picked this up unused with its original box which means I'll have the box crammed in the attic for the next 20 years next to the other interesting but useless stuff I have:
