This was on my work table along with a number of parts from Bugsy II that I painted last fall. No clue what this part is but it may be off of my Bugeye. Any clue. Amazing what you find when you start to clean up work area to start another project painting leaf springs. it looks like a gate latch to me. So before I throw it away...

late model e-brake lever

that's it, needs to go in the brake parts box. Thanks guys.

One thing's for sure. If you throw it away, you'll find out the next day why and where you needed it.

It's the part IN the rear brake that is actuated by the hand brake lever. I don't know if BE use that part, but it's in mine (MK III Sprite) .

It is the ER-Brake Lever. I confirmed as there is a matching one in my bag of parts for upgrade to 3/4" Wheel Cylinder and later Backing Plates.

The is the lever at the very end of all the mechanical linkage that is operating the rear brake shoes when you pull the lever inside the car. These are unique to the cars using the dual piston rear wheel cylinders, so no, not a Bugeye part. The lever that does this on the Bugeye in integral to the single piston aluminum wheel cylinder used on early cars. This part is identified in the manuals as "hand brake lever".

Thanks Gerard. Yes technically not a BE part it came off of a 71 Midget that supplied calipers and spindles and backing plates . At first glance however I could not remember WTH this was. I had painted those parts and put away 16 months ago. This one got hidden by accident. Thanks.
