T-Series Is there an easy way to remove clutch M/C?

I started removing the clutch master cylinder on the "72 MGB.
Things seem cramped to say the least. The manuals make it sound very straight forward and it looks simple enough. Access sucks.
Do you take the whole mounting box off? There looks like theres a rubber plug on the firewall that may help access but it would be under the dash. Does taking this out help?
Are you suppose to take the line off at the banjo nut or at the hex fitting?
Any help would be appreciated!

1/4" drive extensions and swivel sockets are VERY helpful. The M/C can be removed with the pedal box frame left in place (and should be). You just need patience and a thorough think-thru of what needs to be disconnected. Pedal clevis pin, the line (easiest at the banjo fitting) and the two bolts that anchor the M/C... be soaking up any fluid that leaks as you do this.
 
Once the M/C is removed and either repaired or a replacement obtained, install or have a machine shop install 5/16 - 24 helicoil in the mounting holes. doing this eliminates the need to use a nut on the mounting bolt and makes installing and removing the M/C a much easier task in the future.

Now why didn't I think of that. Got it out, installed new lower hose and slave cylinder. Started to put the master in and wondered how the @$*# you get the bottom washer and nut on.
I will helicoil them or at least the bottom one.

Great Idea Dave. I'm going to remember that next time I have to remove the pedal box.
