Star Trek the Next Generation's PADS have become ubiquitous in the form of tablets.
 
I remember the original "Pads" used in TOS (The Original Series) looking like those wax-paper drawing pads we had as kids, but in a big bulky frame.
That they did, I think that's probably why I went with the sleeker Next Generation ones. They really do look like Ipads.

In the last two weeks my mother (93) had a new lense in her right eye/ a crown and a stent - so, obviously the bionic man/ woman. :D
