Is Jaybird OK?

You mean that it's considered bad form to go round to the grieving family and offer to take the cars off their hands "so they have one less thing to worry about"

Yes, very bad form if they just passed away that day.... Miss Manners recommends at least three days. Any longer than that, though, and the other vultures might've got in their bids before you.

Oh I thought it was polite to wait overnight - don't want to seem too eager and all that, but I didn't realise you had to wait until they were actually in the ground

Check their faith.

You mean it differs by religion.
Now you're making it complicated...

Actually, yes. Those of the Jewish faith are buried within 24 hours of their death. So ya gotta make an offer to the family quick, if that is your plan.

Again, trying not to step on any toes here.</span>

& some family members might have their own 'vulture' ideas & are just waiting for the opportune moment to 'swoop'.

You are all bad, bad, bad! You poked through the envelope a few posts ago...:jester:

Nice car Janel, and nice to see your post as well.

I intend to keep all 3 MGs. The husband has other ideas. So presently I'm looking for a good home for him -- comes with an extended cab pick up and a 20 foot Triton bass boat.

Rick, you have to run the MER. How could the Society survive this year without your very generous donation?

Bill, I come see us. We're leaving Wed evening, hitting New Orleans Thursday via Natchez Trace and Baton Rouge. And of course Tony's Seafood. Staying downtown at the Intercontinental (I love priceline) Show is Saturday, we have all day Friday and Sunday to play and explore before we head back home Monday morning.

Minerva. She was a peace offering, eh Baz, for bailing on me as my navigator for the endurance rally. As it stands now, I'm stuck doing just the mini...

Paul, I'm sorry to hear about your dad but 92! What a celebration of life! I hope to have my mom that long, she'll be 83. Chuck's mom will be 92 in June!
