CFNY isn't a good mix station Ron. There is no such thing as a GOOD mix station. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are no country music stations in Los Angeles. The last one was bought by a Hispanic radio company a few months ago. Can you believe there is no country station in a city of millions? Not that I like country at all, I'm just surprised.

I used to work Night Crew (12- 8:30 AM).
After hearing the Muppets sing the "12 Days of Christmas"
Once an hour for 8+ hours, you wanted to rip the speakers out!
The regular music doesen't bother me though -
- "Tis the season",& remember "The Reason for the Season".

Totally agree with Anglia GT.. I can tolerate most Christmas music, even like some. 12 days is out! by anybody! I don't like that song.
I feel like Charlie Brown this time of year. Completely depressed and upset at how commercial Christmas has become.
Just finished reading "A Christmas Carol" to the dot. What a good story.

For me it's not officially christmas time until I watch It's a Wonderful Life. Other favorites (unless they run them for 24 straight hours) are Christmas Vacation, and A Christmas Story.

We had to start playing Christmas music the Friday after Thanksgiving. We play it very quietly, however, mostly because we can't stand it blaring all day long. We also avoid novelty garbage like the Muppets or Alvin and the Chipmunks. Classical holiday music is always a good bet, because it's not screaming "Christmas!" at you, and for some reason traditional crooners (Sinatra, Bennett, Martin, etc.) always make the customers smile.

Part of the reason that stores get their Christmas stuff out early is simply because there's so much to do in preparation for the weekend after Christmas that it takes days to get everything done. It's not just sticking up decorations, it usually involves changing every single display in a store, usually setting up special sale displays, and in our case many of our standard table displays are moved all over the place.

Remember - It's not Christmas until the Osmonds sing!
(Sorry,but I couldn't resist).

Here in the NYC area, 106.7 (WLTW) has been playing Xmas songs since Thanksgiving)...too soon for my taste.
