Is it a Morgan SS?

A friend of a friend is an executor of an estate which includes a 1963 Morgan +4.
The car has front disks brakes, a cutaway bonnet (whose weld marks are evident inside bonnet), two twin Webers, and what appear to be headers.
Is there any way to determine is this car is a true SS, or an "SS wannabe"?
From the VIN plate perhaps?
Thanks very much!

New forum member 64morgancomp sent me the following when I forwarded your ? to him...
"Thought I had a listing here of chassis numbers vs. models but cannot
locate it. Anyway, if "friend of a friend" hasn't yet gotten an answer
to his question, my recommendation would be 1) to get on the emog
site and ask it there. it's at <www.emog.com> or, 2) contact the
Morgan Motor Co. directly with the chassis nr. (found on the cross-
member under the seats stamped in the metal - e.g. B and four digits.)
This last might be the best way to go if there's an estate involved.

The company web site has no e-mail address, their post address:
Morgan Motor Company Ltd.
Pickersleigh Road
Malvern Link
Worcestershire WR14 2LL
Great Britain

Greetings... If you have the chassis number I can find out if it left the factory as an SS. One of the neat things about Morgans is modifications are as acceptable as original. Many cars have been updated with SS bits and some rebuilt to full spec. All considered acceptable.
