howdy all,
recently posted about cooling my BJ8. i.e.dime size+ iron scale
flakes in radiator what to do [not]
used the strongest descaler i could find [motor purr] upshot...
water pump seal let go, as did 2 core plugs !!!!
back flushed system [retrieved 2oz iron scale]
temporarily removed t-stat,installed a common 1" sink strainer
at radiator inlet,dropped quarter size magnet in radiator tank, keep eye on temp,see what happens......

Although I appreciate the substantial amount of scale you have retrieved recently, the only way to really get the debris from the engine is to disassemble and have the block boiled. I expect this is much more than you want to do at this point and believe you probably extracted as much scale as your going to.

However, before you reinstall the plugs, and with the water pump removed, I would try flushing again. This may get some additional scale as the plugs and pump openings are large and lower on the block.
