iPod Touch problem

I have an early iPod Touch that I have used on my home wifi system as well as when out on the road via wifi for several years.
Last night, although the iPod logged into my home network and shows the 3 bars of signal for wifi, it claims that it cannot connect to the internet, although my iPad connects wonderfully.
Any suggestions from the technologically advanced members here will be appreciated.

Hi Dave - looks like Apple has some suggestions for that problem. Might revolve around resetting the connection (tell the iPod to "forget" its settings).

If you've verified that your settings are correct and the issue persists, try the following:

Tap "Forget this Network" to reset settings for this Wi-Fi network, including the password. Then try connecting to the network again. Note: This can be useful if you identify a network issue and want to prevent the device from automatically using this network in the future.

Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings, including passwords, VPN, and APN settings.

Hope this helps.

Gosh it is just great to have a puter professional who can tell me what to do when I have a problem and I actually understand it. Thanks!

Oh yes my old IPod Touch did the same thing when we went with a wireless router. After many, many hours later I did figure it out. Wished I had thought to just ask on the forum.

After the forget this network and re-entering the password failed, I finally went to the back up of the iPod, and then a restore to original. Now it is back on my home network and able to connect. Thanks all. This is a great group for understandable tech help.
