In the past, when you added an image to a post, you were limited to:

Well, now I have added capability to add one other file type: HEIC.
As you might know, on iPhones (especially newer iPhones), the default file type that is saved to your phone when you take a photo is an new Apple format called HEIC, which stands for High Efficiency Image Container. It is supposed to be better than .JPG in that the files are smaller but with (they claim) better image quality.
Anyway, now, if you are adding an image from an iPhone, you can add an image in the .HEIC format (assuming the file size is within limits).
