Iphone question - accessing number with data only.

Good morning all, Mrs JP and I are sitting in a lovely timeshare in Ft Lauderdale for a week. As we came we purchased an eSIM for our iphones - data only as roaming rates are ridiculous. This morning I was trying to download an app which of course sent a text to my Canadian number to verify. :rolleyes: So, is there any way I can access - use - find my Canadian number using data? I see lots of things on the interweb about Google Voice but am not sure if it is relevant.

Why not use wifi to make calls. FaceTime voice.
 
I’m currently in CA and Verizon allows me to use my phone to make calls to the US for no-charge.

That’s because you live in a country where cell phone/internet providers have competition. Here I would be paying my provider $15 a day each to do the same.

my dilemna though is that we got this esim which is great (and cheap) for data, but, went to downlaod an app today and the first thing they wanted to do was text me a verification number, which I can’t access without it costing me the aforementioned $15.
 
Seems that if a guy can afford to travel from Toronto to Florida and enjoy a time-share, he could afford $15.

Hmmm… sounds like you are s.o.l. if you can’t get the verification number.
