This is a great forum, have been lurking for some time, finally have my Healey so wanted to say Hi to all. I had a 100-4 many years ago, that Healey was so hot /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif that I often couldn't keep my foot on the pedals due to the intense firewall heat and lack of carpet or insulation! Finally got another Healy, this is a '66 BJ8 that I have a 1967 sales receipt for and a Heritage certificate confirming numbers and original blue colors, I am the 3rd owner excluding the classic car sales company that actually bought and sold this same car twice over the years. I am 56,semi-retired (means working only 4 half days a week or so /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) and long ago fitted an access door into the basement area of my home so I could actually have a car in my house when doing projects rather than out in the attached unheated garage. I have a bunch of minor changes planned for the Healey, like putting in an old Becker stereo radio I have, converting to neg ground, changing to alternator and different headlights, Petronix etc, always keeping in mind to keep the original stuff Just in Case /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif !! The photo is of the new arrival safely tucked into my basement just hours before the rain and snow were scheduled to restart here in Iowa. So, a big HI to all the folks here, what a great place for Healey information. Oh, and yes, I did inform my wife that all the various drip spots that are showing up are official Healey drips and are supposed to be there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome (again) Velox! Congrats on your beautiful Healey, glad you finally got it home. I had mine out yesterday for a nice drive, but it doesn't look like we'll get out today with the rain...

Welcome. Beautiful BJ8. But your garage is too clean and devoid of "Healey tools". (for now! hee, hee). A Healey isn't happy with out garage clutter. Enjoy!
When you get a Healey, you get us as an extended family.

Welcome aboard! I’ll also say great looking Healey. Adding to Tahoe’s comment the picture shows a good spot for a work bench.

Great looking BJ8, but that heated basement needs some original Healey stuff stacked in the corner area.
Welcome

Thanks all for the welcome. David, yes it is navy and detailed, I don't know if you would have worked on it, came from St. Louis USA. As far as my basement, yes there are other parts of that room not evident in the photo that are becoming filled with tools and Healey parts. Let's just say that Moss, LBCarCo, Victoria British LTD and others have welcomed my credit card with open arms/order forms /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Re: Introductory Post with Picture from another ne

The one that I did was from northern California. It was eventually sold to someone back east. I will have to see if I can find the chassis number. Looks like a nice motor.
Cheers, David. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Hello Velox, i also would like to extend a welcome to you and yes your Healey does look nice. Is the floor of the garage painted with an epoxy paint as that will make the drips easier to clean up? If not it may be worth a thought before you put in all those work benches and assorted equipment and stands that are flashing through your head right now. Don't worry about the drips too much as they can be fixed over a period of time. Enjoy it while the rain stays away then when the cold sets in you can enjoy the garage and it's warmth. Regards, BUNDYRUM.

Beautiful car. Oilspots are default on most british, if you use Castrol oil the spots smells good too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
