Apparently I failed to post an intro when I joined this forum in 2019. This then is my intro:

I really enjoy British cars despite all the bad things they have done to me since my first in 1973, a mimosa TR6. Maybe it’s in the genes. 23 and Me says I’m 91% British Isles.

in 1988 I bought a 1967 Series 1 E type OTS that I still have. Put over 105k miles on my TR6. In a foolish moment in 2005 I sold it. Then three years ago I found I wanted another. Eventually I found a 74 that’s a clone to my former 73. Unfortunately I didn’t check it out well enough so it’s been worse with problems than my first one. But I’ve now worked most issues through.
I drive rallies of 1,2 and 3 days starting here in my part if California - the SF Bay Area. All pre 1976 sports cars, cars of every possible make and model. The Melee, Snowball, Motherlode, Faultline, etc. Lots of great sports car people are now friends. We have many great areas here for backroads driving.

I have a modern MINI. A 2008 MINI Cooper S convertible, Sidewalk Edition. Drive it 6000 miles/year. I also have had many BMWs including a 635 and a 2001 M Roadster. I finally bought a Porsche three years ago after holding out a long time. It’s a 2014 911 4S Cabriolet. way too competent a car to get to speeds where the driver is engaged. But incredible.

And two weeks ago I got something entirely different- a 2002 Thunderbird convertible. A “Retrobird”. As the ads said- “Relaxed sportiness” we plan to keep it at a second get away home where the driving environment is mostly just that-cruising from A to B.

I do minor work myself on my cars. The rest I pay long term relationship mechanics to do. I want to spend my time behind the wheel. I’ve spent enough time dealing with issues!

welcome - finally :ROFLMAO: (we've been waiting)

seriously - great cars and thanks for the intro!
