Introducing "Scary Sprite"

This is whats been keeping me busy for some time ! Its a Speedwell blue Sprite with a Jensen Healey engine, Lotus Eclat gearbox and Jensen Healey back axle.. Its taken a lot of cutting and fabricating and welding to get to this stage, but it should be fun when its finished ! Thats an Ashley fibreglass front that will have a bulge soon

Re: Introducing "Scary Sprite"

Very cool, should be quite a driver when you are all finished.

Re: Introducing "Scary Sprite"

We need more pics and more words. That is going to be so much fun.

See even I like lots and lots of power.

Re: Introducing "Scary Sprite"

I, for one enjoy the power I have, and only enjoy the thought of more. Awesome!!!!!!

Re: Introducing "Scary Sprite"

How many HP do you supose that has?

Re: Introducing "Scary Sprite"

A 907 2liter twincam as produced for the Elite and Eclat made 140hp give or take a few. That was with the Strombergs, the Webers tuned correctly would add around 15-20 on top of that and tuned correctly. We had a 75 Elite but never did the DCOE carbs. These 907s had mildish cams with timing that hurt the torque.
A set of 10.5/1 pistons and cams should yield 175 pretty easily. The Bean catalog is going to be your best friend,,, and your wallets worst enemy but god do they sound great at full song! Drove an S2 Esprit, on Dellortos prior to the turbo cars, and the sound behind your right ear is enough to make you happy the rest of the day after a drive to work.

Re: Introducing "Scary Sprite"

I reckon its about 160 bhp. Oh and the engine and gearbox weigh about 25pounds more than the A series setup

Re: Introducing "Scary Sprite"

I'm really likeing it.

Re: Introducing "Scary Sprite"

Someone on the Btish Healey club forum has calculated a theoretical 0 to 60 time of 4.8 sec !
