Hi all,

I was planning on just lurking about until I had something meaningful….But Basil just reminded me that I joined this forum back in Mid-April and haven’t even introed myself. I ask …(NAY beg) forgiveness!!!
I joined shortly after I purchased my ’90 XJ-S Convertible (look here: My Jag ) I was going to wait until I received it, then rave about what a great deal it was (or how I got took). Unfortunately,
I am still waiting for a transport Company to pick it up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif As a matter of fact… I guess I could use some help… If anyone can recommend a transport company, I am currently shopping for one that wants my money.

AND is willing to bring me my car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey, I'm not above stooping to shaming people into participating /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

A couple of years ago, I shipped a 62 XKE from Virgina with a company I think was called "Year Round" based in one of the Southeast states (Georgia or one of the Carolinas I think). It was about $900 to ship the car from VA to New Mexico. The car was in a very nice enclosed trailer and the service was prompt and professional. I recently saw a card or something laying around for them, I'll see if I can find it again.

Welcome and Cheers!
Basil

I'm surprised that you didn't find any good transporter on the seller provided list. Are they all duds?

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Sadly, It would appear so. That was the site I looked through.
However, the good news is. My car is not in Florida anymore!!!
It's started on its way to the Golden State as of Tuesday. So, I should see it next week!
The story for the delay is interesting. It seems that at this time of year the Snowbirds who have wintered over in Southern Florida are heading home to the Northern Climes and they tend to ship their cars and catch a plane. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif So, by the time any transport trucks got to Disney World they were already full with the Snowbird's cars.

You live and learn.

I wish I was shipping a '62 E Type anywhere... (Sigh)....

Thanks for looking for the address for the shipping Co. but as you will note from my answer to Dave I won't be needing a new shipping Co... (Unless....you would like me to send a truck to your place to pick that '62 up and bring it this way /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)
