I just installed IE 8 in my lap top and I like it over 7. Has improved features, plus some new ones. Have any of you guys tried it yet? So far, I think it's a nice upgrade.

Oh, incidentally, I removed windows 7 (Beta) out of the lap top due to wireless problems that couldn't be corrected yet.

I am also running IE8 and like it. It has a few problems, but it is Bata after all.

The strangest problem is that I get an error message that IE8 has quit and will be closed. However when I click on "OK" the warning goes away and IE8 keeps on working fine as if nothing happened.

IE8 is much better than IE7 IMHO.

Don - when that "quick" error shows up, but it's still running, is there maybe *another instance* of IE8 running?

Task Manager/Processes

Thanks.

No, and there is only one tab open when it happens.

I even checked Task Manager to make sure that only one instance of IE8 is running.

Strange, but not a big deal to me.

Thanks

Yes, and couldn't get FF re-installed quick enough.

IE is good for one thing- downloading Firefox!

I kinda wonder if they keep stats on that stuff. i opened ie8 just once on the two machines i put win7 on and the only thing i typed in the search bar was FIREFOX. lol

Don, Did you load it on top of IE 7? To be honest, I don't use IE in any format but wanted to see if it was better than 7. Actually I use Flock, which is based on FireFox. Flock has a photo bar that uses Photobucket or your Flicker account and photos can be pulled down to almost any site.

I'm running IE6 (But Firefox is my primary browser - I use IE for certain sites that don't play nice with FF). Can IE8 be installed without overwriting my IE6 install? Or is it an "upgrade" only?

Basil, I think it's an upgrade only, as it merged with IE 7 on my machine and only IE 8 was visible. Since IE seems to be a part of windows, I don't think that scenario can be changed. But I'm sure there's someone out there who knows more about it.
