Don't cha just hate it when a problem is intermittant? I mean...off all the time is easier to solve than sometimes off, sometimes working.
Such is the case with my temp and fuel gauges lately. '69 Spitfire Temp gauge works when it wants to, and sometimes decides to shut right off. When it does, the fuel gauge will read zero as well. do nothing but drive another two miles down the road, and they will both decide to receive a signal and report anticipated readings.
Is this a voltage stabilizer issue, or a ground issue, or something else?
