Afternoon All:
Need to get the wheel arches covered before I mess with the rear valence. Any special tricks to them or are they as straight forward as they look? Oh, are they handed, as in right or left?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Macy's Garage has this turorial on covering the wheel arches. I followed these instructions and they came out really nice. :smile:

Art that is some very nice work. I hope to be doing interior work this spring.

Howdy Tinker,

Mark Macy @ Macy`s Garage also offers a real thin sponge backing for the wells. I believe its Mark that offers that. Of course; There is a RH & LH pending the piping as shown in the pic above.

I`m still watching a couple of your items by the way.

I followed Macy's and after some cursing and tension mine came out well. I bought a head liner material with thin foam for the padding that he suggests. The part that i had issues with was the beading are wanting to pucker.
 
I learned when we did these several months ago that the material can be overstretched. I had the tendency to do this but was advised against it. I was concerned about some small wrinkles. Eventually it did shrink and all those little wrinkles did disappear.

Thanks. I got all of the interior pieces from The Roadster Factory, including the carpeting. It's all leather including the dash. I really enjoyed doing the interior work.
 
The way I was instructed to do it by an upholsterer who has done countless interiors, including TS1, was to apply the adhesive to the bottom portion of the arch and fit/install. After the adhesive has cured finish the top.
This way, the bottom is anchored and allows you to stretch/apply pressure to the top for proper fitting.
 
OK but starting the piece at the bottom in such a way to achieve the piping in the correct spot is easier to say than do. I will say that the panels did kinda straighten everything out when screwed in.
