I thought the Jule frame came as a complete chassis that only needed the outer panels for $8,000. I didn't know that all you got was the basic frame.
You start out at $8k.
Add for round trip shipping(let Martin pick-up and deliver)Approx. $1600 to $2k.
(add for $250.00 brokerage fees going across border)
Add about $2k for chassis sand blasting to remove rust, etc.(you will lose some of your metal
in the blasting process so be prepared for "holes" to appear.
There probably will be some pieces of your chassis that can't be saved or would be cheaper to
replace. This vaires per car so be prepared.
Paint the chassis(I had Martin paint my chassis), aprox. $1700 (base coat, clear coat).
Speaker Pods(I added these for an unseen speaker modifications. $150.00
New leaf springs. $300.00. Mine were broken and I wanted the ride height of my BJ8 to be
level and not the wierd looking rear-end jacked up look I've seen on some BJ8 cars.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that there will probably be some things that need replaced that can't be really properly evaluated until the chasis is sand blasted. You will get your Healey back with all fenders and doors "swag line" properly lined up. If you car was previously repainted and the was bondo used there could be areas in your seams that won't line up due to the new frame. The new frame is very solid when compared to the old one!! I spent about $2k more than I had planned and had to stop Marty from making some more repairs but those repairs can be easily done by a competent shop in my area when my budget allows it.
I am very satisfied with my Jule chassis and if you could have seen my frame you would understand that the Jule frame was my only way to go for my car. marty will best advise you of ways to save money on the work you need to have done. I also received a CD with all of the pictures showing my car's work while at Jule.
