what makes sense to do first? carpet or vinyl panels?

I think I need to put the hood release - and back panel in first but how do I proceed from there?

Carpets first.

Panels are installed before the carpet and are a lot cheeper.

What do you mean Jack?

Maybe if you spill glue, it won't fall on the new carpet?

Jack, are you reading from the Concours Manual?

1976 - no panels are glued - just looking for jobs till the weather gets warmer - and wondering especially about the panel the hood latch handle attaches to

I think the hood latch panel has to go in first, then carpet, then the rest of the panels.

I'm just finishing up my '79 and did it that way, only difference is that I covered the old vinyl panels with carpet and reinstalled them.

Less expensive and I like the look better, not original.... but who cares on a '79

No manual, it is just that the carpet covers the lower edges of the panels so it only stands to reason that they go in first.

Jack, you're correct if using carpeting that has binding around the edges and uses snaps to hold them down like Moss sells. I cut my own carpeting and did not bind the edges and used double stick carpet tape and installed the panels after the carpet was installed. I was thinking only the way I did mine, sorry
about that.

I am not always correct but............ LOL. However, I am always willing to learn.
