The body that I am planning to start my resto on was priginally painted British racing green (GN25) and will be repainted that color. What was the original interior and carpet color that went with this paint.

John, what year is the car your restoring? Is it the 77? From 71 to 76, I believe the interior color on a BRG car was Autumn Leaf. I'm not sure if there was a definite year or years for a definite interior/exterior color match. My BRG 72 had an Autumn Leaf interior. Sort of a brown rubber on the door sills and the carpet was so faded, it was hard to determine the actual color. Looked like it might have been tan?
I've been told that in the past, Autumn Leaf was one of the hardest interior colors to get, but Moss now sells it. Even though I had my 72 painted Flame Red, I put a biscuit interior back in it and it looks great. An friend of mine in Columbia, SC has a 79 BRG with a tan interior and it also looks great. PJ

I have since learned that my body shell (a 78) was probably not painted GN25. What would have been the original green color of a 78?

Hey, John -

I think that was Brooklands Green - do a Google search, and you'll probably find more info than you need!

Mickey

Yep, Mickey's got it right....for '78, the green was Brooklands Green & the interior was Beige w/Black carpet everywhere except on battery tray; there it was Chesnut.

You won't, however, be able to get Chesnut for the tray area from any of the suppliers - their entire carpet kit is black.....you can try tyo source Chesnut through normal carpet outlets & have it cut & bound.
