I'm sure this has been posted before but, search though I did, I could not find the answer to what is, I expect, a very simple question. How do you get the interior door handles off a BN7 without breaking something? Does the eschutcheon just pop off with a prying screwdriver or is there some ancient code/procedure I should know about?
As always - thanks for the help.

Hi Jim,
It looks like it is the same as my BJ8 (I could be wrong). What you would do is push the escutcheon plate in to expose the shaft that the handle is attached to. You will see a pin at the base of the handle that needs to be pushed out, freeing the handle. The Moss catalog may help a little. click me
 
BN6's work the same way; push the center portion in and use a pin-punch to push the pin out (pin is not a press-fit).

Hey Jim,
Biggest problem will be getting the door panel and escutcheon to move in enough
to give you access but just be patient and you'll get the pin removed. A hint
I got out of the Moss catalog for putting the pin back in is this -
take a finish nail the same diameter as the pin you took out, mark off the
length of the factory pin on it, then cut the nail almost through but leaving
enough so you still have the complete length to hold onto and work with. Once
you get it back into the hole on the handle, you can simple twist it and it
will brake off, leaving you the nail/new pin in place. Makes it far easier than
trying to re-insert the factory pin. Used this on a BN4 and several BJ8's.
