Interior color - Help me decide

Alana,

Oh, I've never heard of the Heritage Coach before (like that means anything). When I called the second Heritage, they told me they started out as a Jag only shop and grew from there. Ya know they gotta be good, most Jag owners are pretty picky. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm sure they are good. The seats look really nice in the pics. I'd never heard of either of them until this week though, so it's all new to me.

I really like the biscuit interior in the 6 on their site. I think that would go well in my car. I think I'd do black or red for the carpets and keep a black hood though. Not sure why, just a feeling that I wouldn't like a tan coloured hood.

NEway I'm still interested in the prices from the 2nd Heritage. TIA, Alan

Alana,

I was just looking at the first Heritage again, they've got a pic of an Aston Martin DB5... I would love to one day get my grubby little hands on one of those. One of my top 3 favorite rides.

That was it! heritagetrim.com. Their stuff looks awesome... However, they don't even list prices on the website! It's got to be outrageous... Ya gotta be doing it because you like it, not for resale!

I mean, the TR6 they show is done with a dark green carpet, and light tan leather seating with green piping. Beautiful...

Bill,

Until they redid the website last summer(?) they had their prices listed. They were in-line with Skinner and Pestige at that time.

Yeah, they probably will end up being about 25+% more expensive than a Prestige Auto Trim setup for example. This being said without seeing their complete price list. TRF lists their vinyl seat kits for approx. $350.00, Heritage lists their Connolly leather seats for $770. Quite a big jump, possibly too big for my pocket book considering Prestige lists their leather covers for $450.00. The quality jump would have to be considerable.

You saw they just redid their website and are having a sale on carpets and panels, right?

HERITAGE DOES DO REALLY NICE WORK. remember that leather comes in many many different qualities. i was looking for 1962 tr4 red leather but they did not carry the correct colour. they sent me 1" square samples in a folder to compare. get their samples to look at from all suppliers to see the colour, thickness, texture, etc. before parting with your money!

OK, my price list for Heritage arrived today and I've done a comparison. I compared full interior kits using Prestige Leather/Wool, Heritage Leather/Wool, and TRF Vinyl/Wool just for a comparison sake. Some of the pieces for each kit were sourced from TRF if the other two companies don't offer the part, I have noted this in the file.

I've attached a file with the comparison. Prestige comes in first hands down, but Heritage wasn't as much as I thought it would be.

That's not so bad for leather. Is there a noticeable quality difference from the samples?

Did you pick a colour in the end?

Alan,

I'm still thinking biscuit. The sample from Heritage is kinda small, but the leather looks and feels the same from what I can tell, although the Heritage sample isn't as "furry" on the back as the Prestige for whatever that means.

The carpet on the other hand looks and feels better from Heritage, definitely a tighter weave.

Thanks for all the details Shannon. This is the same conclusion I arrived at.

yep, i'm leaning towards the leather/wool combo similar to yourself. was thinking to ask Prestige if they can do the seat covers with a contrasting piping to match the car's exterior or a darker carpet.

how did the leather quality,colour,texture,compare?
rob

the prestige samples seem top notch, nice thickness to the leather, good grain quality and oh so soft. the wool carpet appears high quality as well. i cannot speak to the heritage samples.....Shannon?
