Never realized that Spitfires were used for Photo reconnaissance.

Think about the navigation challenges involved. No GPS just maps and people shooting at you.

And very special reconnaissance, too.

Remember how he mentioned having two cameras? It was a big secret for a long time (well after the war), but he was collecting stereographic imagery. Unlike everybody else's flat imagery, they were collecting 3D data.

There was a NOVA about it a while back. They got to spend quite a bit of quality time with Lt. Col Blyth.
