I wouldn't think it has been a race car. All the regs for vintage racing require the car to be as stock as it was when manufactured with certain mods permitted - and this is not one of them.

If that was done by craftsman, then Sears are going out of business /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif My 'backyard buddies' would be embarrassed to be in the same state as that thing. Oh crap I just realised, we are...

And someone actually BID on it!!!

Although to be fair he went with 'unique' instead of 'rare', and it's certainly unique.

Don,
I think he's saying it raced in the day at Sebring. Many Triumph specials raced, and even some at Sebring. It's possible this was a race car at some point, but more likely it was someone's shadetree project.

Actually, I think the front clip is from a LaDawri fiberglass kit.

Very strange Mod. Someone definatly put some time into the hood hinges (far too heavy for racing purposes)
It's only 2 hours from here. I'd love to go see it first hand, but I don't have the time. And I'm definatly not buying it!
Definatly be a conversation starter at car shows.

When I first saw this car I was reminded of the things that were done to children in the middle ages to malform their heads so they could be in the circuses...

Why would someone do such a thing?

I wouldn't admit it, even if I did.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif

That's a pretty horrible example, worse than a Daimler Dart.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Yes, in much the same way that one can't help staring at a wreck on the highway.

looks like a perfect candidate for a TR3 pickup truck mod.

That would be a TRuck...

No, that would be a TR yuck!
That remindes me of the old Moss MGTC delivery car.

The TR uck is T.R. Householders he also has a Francorchamps TR2 that was being restored. I haven't heard anything about it in the last 4 od 5 years. Anyone know?
