5:45 AM and I was still sleeping. Suddenly wife, who had been up for about 15 minutes, came into the room and woke me, stating the police had just come to the house asking of everything was ok. As Mary was taking the Dog out for her morning p break, a female police officer, who had parked out on the street, approached and identified herself as local police and asked my wife "is everything ok here?" My wife replied "yes, why?" The officer told her that they had received a call from someone who just stated "something is going on at (our address)," then hung up without giving any details.

Mary assure the office that everything was fine and suggested that maybe whoever called it in confused our address with a different address (wouldn't be the first time). Anyway, very weird way to wake up!

Or could be one of those prank calls where they report an issue and then watch the response. That sort of thing has shown up on the news on occasion. Has sometimes led to bad results when they're told someone has a weapon or hostage or such.

Yeah, we were talking about that. Glad it wasn't a swat team breaking down my door!

Kinda wish we'd get a response like that. Yesterday Mitsy spotted a blue tarp in a government designated protected wetland, a wooded area behind th' hovel about fifty yards into the Florida scrub. Suspected some "urban survivalists" to have set up housekeeping, so called Sheriff's dep't dispatch to "say something." Asked that any responding deputy stop to see me for status. Never saw them. Today called the Southwest Water Management District folks to reiterate. They're supposedly in authority over the property and the area is posted with plenty of "No Trespassing" and "BOUNDARY" signs. Was told it'd be visited sometime within a WEEK!?! Called sheriff's Dep't again, related that a call yesterday had been placed, with request to see the deputy but with nobody showing up. Then they told me there had been someone go look at the area, no "humans" found, only "personal belongings" and it had been referred to "Behavioral Health" people... HUH?

So now we've got WHAT, exactly? Trespassing on government property, by people who are mentally ill by law enforcement's judgment? THEY'RE TRESPASSERS (DAMMIT!)! on POSTED Protected Government Land! By definition a law enforcement issue. Try that around Area 51? A Naval Base? The Capitol lawn?

So now, do I set up a 24-hour watch in the back yard? Hope the "humans" back there are benign? Send a note "Robin Hood" style inviting them for tea? Maybe I should give local TV "Thirteen-up-your-a$$" a call...
:mad::mad:

Time for drone footage?

Would do, but the "woods" are too dense. I'd lose the drone. Put a new surveillance camera up in the back today, better view of the property now.

I vote for the last option.

Waiting 'till tomorrow to see if I've lit enuff of a spark under the bureaucrats' butts today. They've been made aware in no uncertain terms we're about to make enough noise in all the right places to focus attention on THEM for passing the buck.
