Wednesday and Thursday afternoons saw Nunyas and self at th' hovel, quaffin' an' yackin' to the wee hours.

Friday, went across the state to retrieve an XKE tub from the "dipper". A now-nekkid tub hangs from the lift as if on davits.

ooooooh.... will the doc be gettin a new ride? XKE, I like it!

naaahhh. It's a client's V-12. One of a very few guys still on "the list" of folks whose cars get shop time. We officially shut down years ago but this one couldn't be refused. He decided he wanted it done from the contact patches, up. Wouldn't trust anyone else to do it right.

Nothing like a wee little job like that to keep the old skills sharp. I almost don't know wether to be happy or sad about you for that. Nothing like going that deep to be absolutely sure it is all right, correct, and complete.

Over all it is surprisingly corrosion free. Where I expected Swiss cheese it's solid, where it should be solid there are some "steel lace" spots. Weird.

My main role in this will be rewiring, possibly some chassis and the engine reassembly if my pal can coerce me into it. We did this engine about 15 years ago.
