Interesting Restoration Project! Nice!

Ah, I know on my V8 car, we reinforced the 'frame' ala the RV8 with 'tophats'...that's what I thought you were talking about...here's a photo of fitting:

Is that a traction bar setup Tony? If it is, it's a real neat job! What kind of spring is that?
 
Its a composite spring with anti-tramp bars (some folks call them traction bars) & a panhard bar - and a tube shock conversion.

The only thing that I see that would look like a problem is the brace in the doorway. He will have a little trouble going back together and lining doors and fenders up with the brace in the way. I would have put it inside the car from post to post. :hammer:
