Interesting Marketing Survey for the New MG

Oh my gosh Kenny, did you play EQ?

... why bring up Ever Qurack on here? ... o_O

Anywho, it wouldn't bother me one bit if the value of my B sky rocketed because of a new MG on the market, because the new ones aren't the old ones and the old ones won't ever be seen on the roads in "high numbers". So, there's still that element of 'exclusivity' to the old cars. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I filled it out. Interesting, but the new MGs will not have anything to do with the old ones. I don't see how they can even emphasize the amazing and important history of this great British marque when the company is Chinese. I think they are going to start over from scratch and try to sell cars the modern way, same as all the other Asian makes.

If they do not take care of the MG lovers they will crash on take off.

The public expects certin things from a vehicle with MG on it and if it does not get it, shrug.

I've driven the 4 door sedan, and the 2 door hatchback over in the UK, both a very nice, the hatchback, even though was a turbo-diesel was a lot of fun, and very fast. Did they have the spirit and soul of an MG? Very close, but not B or Midget spirit.
My comment on there was about the spirit, don't just slap a badge on a roadster and call it an MG, make it special, make it desireable.

Do they?

Remember that the modern TF wasn't the only modern MG being produced and sold in England in recent years. There were several other models wearing the MG logo including econo coupes and small sedans. Just like when MG was in full swing. It was never just two seat sports cars. Just what does 'MG' mean in the US. That's the point of the survey.

Oh and I snuck in my TR owner opinion on the survey as well. Don't worry too much. It was mostly favorable. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

EQ? are you asking about my new signature? It's from Dune.

Ahh, The Sleeper awakes is a special one time per server event in EQ long ago.

Fear is the mind killer.

ah... didn't notice the change in Kenny's sig...

but I know of "The Sleeper" ... never got to witness it's awakening myself. I was never "hard core" enough to be in an "Uber guild" during my EQ days, but strangely enough I was concidered "uber" by some people that I met in 'pick up' groups ... *shrug* those days are long gone for me.

I have a new adiction ... I call it MGB /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was not in the awakeing group but sure got killed by him when he ported around to various zones.

Was an extreamly Uber Mage till about a year ago. We pushed content as it was released. Same character, same server, same guild five years. Had enough, retired.

I completed it and just hope that the engineers do their homework when designing it.

What we need to remember is that the Chinese have no intent at this time to bring back the MGB or MGB/GT and its variants. The only MG being planned for Oklahoma is the MGTF Coupe. Other models will be exported to the States.

They need to market not only to we existing MG owners, but to potential new owners....which, in my opinion, will not happen with a "retro" MG.

They need to get financially stable and prove the worthiness of their American made product...then bring back the MG as we knew them.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif Ultimately, they (MG) are a business and they will do what according to their plan, would be profitable. Although we would all like to see a roadster, it's likely that they will deliver something that sells and makes money.
I wouldn't be surprised if they brought out their diesel with gas milage being a big issue, if there's a market for something.....

I did comments, told em to keep it simple, well designed, and no plastic.

Too funny! I had the exact same "no plastic" comment when I filled out the Qr. earlier today.
