My stock air cleaners occasionally strike the hood. You can see "Harvest Gold" Paint then on the air cleaner body's. I have moved the adjustments on the hood hinges all the way up, what could be causing this?
By the way its a 74'.

Check your engine mounts. If one is loose or broken the engine may be moving around enough to hit the bonnet.

There are two shapes of air cleaners. I do not know the difference, nor what should be on your car. It is just something I've noticed in the past.

Photo might be helpful.

Tell me about your motor mounts....

The motor mounts came from VB about 9 years ago. At that time the car was completely apart. The intake manifold has been on the car all the while, I have owned the car, 25 years. I am the second owner, so I suppose the first owner may have changed it, but I doubt it.
