Hey DNK are Triumphs named Triumphs because owners concider it a Triumph if it starts the first time they try?

Does TR8 stand for <span style="font-weight: bold">T</span>ried <span style="font-weight: bold">R</span>epeatedly <span style="font-weight: bold">8</span> times

You could be on to something. Got one on blocks now that hasn't started in 12 years+
 
My Wedge is,more or less, the TR6 has been incommunicado for that long
