MGB interested in restoring our MGB

My wife and I have recently purchased a 1979 MGB. We originally purchased it to be a toy. Recently we attended our local club's yearly get together in Louisville Ky. I have decided to try and restore it to make it a little more show quality. Would appreciate any info available. I am fairly descent with basic mechanical functions. I have several projects in mind but I will go into them at a later time. Just wanted to say hello

Welcome to the BCF! Since you have an MG-specific question, I've moved this post to the MG forum, but left a marker in the "New User Welcome" forum.

Welcome - I guess the first thing would be to post a few photos so we can see what you've got...then, you tell us where you want to go with the project & we can point you in the general direction.

Do you want to keep it stock? Modify body or drivetrain?

Show? Or go?

Welcome Greg,
I find this forum more useful than our local club. Shhhh. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

There are many helpful and knowledgeable people here that answer questions promptly (sometimes before you ask).

Our local club is also helpful, and the "stink" is only stirred occasionally. They can help you with local resources, and sometimes some "hands on" help. We have had a number of "wrenching parties" to help members get over difficult spots in their projects.

Are you going to make the meeting this evening at KT's?
I plan on being there (only a little late).

Welcome to the BCF!

My local club is fine but this is even more local and you can ask Q's 24/7.

And there's usually one insomniac or other willing to answer relatively quickly... "We Try Harder" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome!
