Intake manifold

The center tube on the Elva's exhaust manifold (MGA) is burned up and needs to be replaced.

The crossover pipe on my present intake manifold is straight (horizontal) and makes the transition of this exhaust pipe very tight.

I recall seeing a manifold with an arched pipe that would make this transition easier.

Does anyone have a source for this?

Maniflow, David Anton at APT sells them. I'm not a big fan of them as they are made form stell tubing and porting them well is out of the question because it a piece of thin walled pipe. Alot SCCA racer have plugged the balance tube as is allowed per the rules. Here's a thought form out of the box Mike, why not take the MGB intake, and cut the blance tube out of it and run it as two spearate intakes, MGB is the SCCA are now allow to run individual intake runners so it's a thought, that get the blance tube out of the way, as it does very little for racing purposes anyway.

The Elva is a real pain to make a header for...

But it doesn't require modifying the intake.

I had 3 different configurations made and dyno tested them all.

Why will not the Maniflow ex manifold work on a Elva.
This fits very close to the block.
But I have zero knowledge of Elva.
I see no reason that a Maniflow ex manifold will not do the job.
Well made product.
I have used these for years in road & racing with good results on MGB's.
If you are still running 1.5" S.U's.
I have a used Maniflow steel intake & exhaust sitting here.

There is only enough room for one pipe between the block and the pedalbox of the Elva.
And the Maiflow's collector is lower than "Healey height".
(If you can imagine that)

It's a supreme PITA designing and fitting a removable hedder to the car.

I've come up with 2 versions that I like.

A 1st and 4th cylinder Y pipe 24" long that collects behind the draft tube and a center (2 & 3 cylinder) tube that collects just before the engine backing plate.

The second is a 3 into one but it is more of a Hp manifold and I don't have any need for it in Auto-X.

Not to hijack the thread, but was an Elva on E-bay when I looked last night, not the right time for me, but that is a car that has always intrigued me, looks to be decent, claimed to be one of only two factory equipped with O/D. I assume they are a little harder to find than an MGB, so you might want to take a look if interested, listed under other makes.
