Intake Manifold

Today I removed the intake in order to also put on a Maniflow header, which is off to get ceramic coated Anyhow, check out my intake. last I checked, they are not supposed to be cut in half. Maybe someone out there can help me source out another manifold too.

Best I can tell, that is an HS2 manifold, however I have HS4 carbs. Measured the opening at the intake and its 1 7/8", suggesting someone ported it. So I suppose I need to search out a manifold (upgrade?) to fit HS4's

Not sure, but I think that may be an MGB manifold cut to fit the A-series head.

On HS2 manifolds the carb studs are in a vertical pattern, on an HS4 manifold they are diagonal just as your's are.
That appears to be an early MGB manifold that is cut and is probably the best that you are going to get for HS4's on an A-block

Creative thinking on whoever did it I suppose. I'll solid mount it without the rubber bit and see if it can be welded together. Now to figure out what gaskets are needed to put it back together.

Cutting an MGB manifold to fit the A Series head (and welding back together) is common amongst SCCA F Production racers. I have one (welded) on F Prod car right now.

Think I will have it welded up and run it. Looks like I'll also need to grind down the tabs for the mounts, its a bit over 1/2" thick, and the exhaust header is 1/4". Kind of hard to have a shared bolt with that discrepancy. The old header had 1/4" plates welded on the flanges to make it work, but I thinking grinding down the manifold would work just as well.

You can make, or have made, a stepped mounting washer to take care of the difference in thickness. When you have it welded, make sure it is bolted to a head or jig.

Except that the Spridget manifold won't fit your HS 4's.
